Redesign of an Emergency and Transport Respirator
We were commissioned to refine an emergency and transport respirator. The compact emergency respirator was developed for use in primary emergency medical care and for transportation between and within clinics.
Customer specifications called for the implementation of three additional serial interfaces and the necessary power supplies. All obsolete components were also replaced as part of the process. High processor loads meant a faster processor and more memory (RAM) were needed.
The upgrade was implemented in two stages:
- Modification of the CPU and RAM and performance of all required tests
- Selection and design of all new components, module commissioning and testing, documentation in compliance with applicable standards (FMEA, FDA, DO160E).
The BeOne redesign made the unit compatible with other devices and ensured that the customer can continue to deliver for the next 10 years.
